Childrens’ Things

This is “Baybee”. Booger is not quite old enough to be creative in her toy naming, but she’s very direct. Why beat around the bush? A tiger’s name is “Tiger”. A bear’s name is “Bear”. This is “Baybee”. She’s a baby. Simple enough.
When I was a little girl, Barbies were my thing. Out of my two children, Booger (thug that she is) surprisingly loves girly things – dolls, bows, dress-up, my shoes. Sure, she still climbs a tree in a dress, but she’s a friggin’ LADY. Don’t forget it.
By the time I reached my teens, I had a hard time understanding I should let the Barbies go. They were my comfort and source of childhood whimsy. I was in no rush to grow up. It seemed too hard. And every time I watch my children play, I am reminded that their time in this span of life is short. They don’t have long to be children. It also makes me think of all the toys I’ve lost or left behind. Imagine my joy when, during my family’s recent trip to the movies to see Up (RUN TO THE THEATER TO SEE THIS MOVIE), we were treated to this trailer… IN 3-D!

I think I had kids just to have an excuse to play again. Hope they don’t mind.
